Q1:Purpose and scope of application

   This instrument is applicable to the Cleveland Open Cup (abbreviated as COC) for the determination of the flash point and fire point of viscous petroleum asphalt, coal tar pitch, and liquid petroleum asphalt materials with a flash point above 79°C, and is used to evaluate construction safety.

Q2:Applicable standards

   This instrument is designed and manufactured in accordance with the national standard GB/T3536 - 1991 "Test Methods for Flash and Fire Points of Petroleum Products" (Cleveland Open Cup Method) for test methods of petroleum and petroleum products. This instrument is also applicable to the highway regulation T0611 - 1993 in JTJ052 - 2000 "Test for Flash and Fire Points of Asphalt" (Cleveland Open Cup Method), the international standard ISO - 2592 test method, and the standard ASTM D92 test of the American Society for Testing and Materials.

Q3: Precautions

   1. To ensure a clear observation of the flash fire, when conducting experimental tests, the instrument should be placed in a location that is as wind - sheltered and dimly lit as possible.

   2. The instrument should be placed in an environment that is dry, insulated, free from pollution and corrosive gases such as acids and alkalis, and kept clean.

   3. During the test, the copper cup should be handled with care to prevent the glass tube from breaking and causing electric leakage.

   4. After turning on the power supply, if the current indicator does not pass zero when the electrical knob is rotated clockwise, rotate it a little more to the right.

   5. When adjusting the heating rate, try not to let the heating power exceed 1.8A for a long time to ensure the long - term and stable operation of the instrument.
